Our companyOptoSonics develops premier molecular imaging instrumentation based on our proprietary platform technologies: thermoacoustic computed tomography (TCT) using microwaves, and photoacoustic computed tomography (PCT) using near-infrared light. These imaging products are used in the fields of molecular biology, oncology, drug discovery, diagnostics, and therapeutic medicine. Currently, OptoSonics is partnering with another company to produce a second-generation photoacoustic scanner using near-infrared light. This new scanner is targeted at preclinical imaging applications in mice. Specifically, it will be used for quantifying hemoglobin concentrations, oxygen saturation, and exogenous molecular probe concentrations in three-dimensions. |
